MUSEUM OF GEOLOGICAL FORMATIONS OF METEORA
The museum of <<GEOLOGICAL FORMATIONS OF METEORA>> opened its gates to the public for the first time in May 2018.
It is housed in the old building of the Primary School of Kastraki, which has been declared a historical monument.
It is a two-storey building of a total area of 460 m² in the central square of Kastraki under the Holy rocks of Meteora. Entering the museum, the visitor is transported 30 million years ago and forms a view of both the geological phenomenon of Meteora and the wider area, as it was formed by phenomena related to earthquakes, erosion and degradation that “worked closely” with the common goal of eliminating the forms of the relief.
